What if you could have an idea of your child’s future health without drawing blood and testing genetics?
Dr. Brian Stenzler can help you get that information in 20 minutes with his D.R.E.A.M. Wellness score, and we talk today about flipping quite a number of “health” paradigms on their heads. I left with a to-do list for my family, and I know you’ll take both practical and philosophical knowledge away today, like:
- Why we can stop using the word “sick” altogether
- The road to failure that begins with “everything in moderation”
- A litmus test for your health that starts with looking in the mirror (but has zero to do with what you see)
- How I’m going to teach my kids to sit when they’re playing on tablets
- What miiiiiiight convince me to stop embracing sleeping in on the weekends…although I might need more work on accepting this one!
I can’t believe how often Dr. Brian challenged my own assumptions, redefined all sorts of words, and gave practical advice to truly improve overall health.

- 15:37: Parents are often wondering how to strengthen their child’s immune system as if their immune system is already weak. What’s Your D.R.E.A.M. Wellness Score?
- 18:10: Dr. Brian wrote a book, D.R.E.A.M. Wellness, that gives you a score for future health. He explains how he developed this score. You can find out your score without buying the whole book here.
- 23:19: The parent should take the D.R.E.A.M. score survey for the child unless they’re an older teen. If you have a baby, they are exposed to everything you are exposed to so your responses will be very similar.

- 24:55: Dr. Brian mentioned violent movies, he makes this so broad and takes health beyond the physical and even beyond mental health. He goes over some of the aspects the D.R.E.A.M. score takes into account: Diet, Relaxation, Exercise, and Mental.
- 30:00: We talk a bit about getting a child on board with some mindfulness practices like affirmations.
Can you look in the mirror and say, ‘I love you’? -Dr. Brian Stenzler
- 32:43: You might have noticed that Dr. Brian skipped “A” when he was going through the aspects of the D.R.E.A.M. score! Listen in here to discover what “A” is.
- 33:45: Some examples of chemical stressors are foods we’re allergic to, pesticides, GMOs, pollution, and medications. Physical stressors are things like poor posture, a car accident, a fall, or injury. Emotional stressors are the things we usually consider “stress” like finances, issues at work, relationship problems, etc.

Raising Kids for Future Health
- 35:59: I noticed Dr. Brian said “adapt” to the chemicals and stressors we’re exposed to. Yes, we should avoid where possible, but it isn’t completely possible so it’s important to know how to support our bodies when we are exposed to chemicals and stress.
- 37:11: How can we teach our kids to be on screens in a healthy way?
- 43:29: We’re taught not to discuss religion and politics at family gatherings, but really we need to be teaching our kids how to have controversial discussions with grace and respect.
- 44:03: No one argues against sleep being a key pillar of health. Dr. Brian shares why a set wake time is more important than a set bedtime. Sleeping in on the weekends could actually be more detrimental to your health than getting less sleep.
- 48:19: Once you know your D.R.E.A.M. score, how will it impact your family, and what’s next?
