#LifeSkillsNow Mini-Series: Saving, Growing, and Investing for Teens and Tweens
The Best Year to Start Investing Was Last Year. The Second Best Is While They Still Live With You.
11 short workshops that teach teens and tweens how to grow money, not just spend it: credit, compound interest, brokerage accounts, IRAs, and the fees that eat the rest.
A Teenager Has the One Thing No Investor Can Buy
Your kid has decades. That’s the whole advantage, and it expires a little every year nobody explains what to do with it. Waiting just five years to start can cost hundreds of thousands by retirement, and a teenager has all the years to spare.
Nobody hands teens that information. They get “save your money” and a savings account earning almost nothing, then at 22 they’re guessing about a 401(k) match and a credit score they’ve never seen.
These 11 workshops fix the guessing part in about three hours, taught by CPAs, finance coaches, and people who reached financial freedom early and wrote the book on it. Your kid watches. You get to stop worrying about whether this ever gets covered.
This was very helpful. Now I know what to do, what to look for, and strategies. I am only 12 but plan to start investing some of the money I have earned over the years by doing chores. Thanks!

Why Saving, Growing, and Investing?
Compound interest is the most useful idea in personal finance and just about the worst one to learn at 40.
These workshops put it in front of your kid while the math still has room to work. Each session is short, specific, and about one real move: open the account, read the statement, run the number, pay the bill.
- Short videos (10 to 34 minutes) your teen or tween can watch on their own
- Eleven different voices, including two CPAs, a credit union branch manager, a certified finance coach, a financial coach, a Google financial analyst, and a TEDx speaker on compounding
- One real-life action step from every session, so the lesson leaves the screen
- A one-time purchase with no subscription, and it’s yours to keep
I didn’t realize that things like babysitting or mowing lawns could be considered income! If I could put even half of that money away then I could probably have a pretty sweet retirement account in like my 30s.

What Your Teen Will Be Able to Do
After this series, your kid can:
- Explain what a credit history is, why it starts at 18, and which early mistakes follow you for years
- Apply for a first credit card on purpose, knowing what to look for and how to manage it
- Run the compound interest math themselves and see what starting at 20 versus 25 actually costs
- Open a brokerage account (with you as the custodial adult), and know to pick the fund instead of letting cash sit there
- Recognize the small convenience purchases that add up to thousands, and decide which ones are worth it
- Understand what an IRA is and how babysitting or lawn money can go into one
- Name the four mechanisms that get people to financial freedom decades early
- Compare unit prices at the grocery store and find the actual cheaper option
- Keep track of bills, know which ones carry the worst penalties, and pay on time
- File a simple tax return without panic, including a side hustle’s expenses and write-offs
None of it is theory. Every workshop ends with something to go do.

Rest Easy with our Happiness Guarantee
You have time to decide what you love! Let your teen watch a few workshops, see if the compound interest math actually lands, and if you don’t love it let us know within 30 days of purchase and we’ll give you a full refund.
You have unlimited access to all the content, so even if your kid watches every workshop and you still ask for a refund, we’d give it to you because we believe in this collection so much. That’s our risk, but we trust you probably won’t do that. It’s just important to us that you understand how much care we’ve put into this.
My 10 year old has gotten excited to save more money (he was comparing prices at the grocery store and talking through our options and reminding me not to hit a drive through as we could invest that money instead).

Eleven workshops. About three hours. A kid whose money starts working before they turn 18.
What does a workshop feel like?
1. Watch a Short Video
Most workshops run 10 to 22 minutes. Your teen can knock one out before dinner.
2. Optional: Print the Handout
Every workshop comes with a printable to follow along or keep with the account paperwork.
3. Try the Action Step in Real Life
Each workshop ends with one specific thing to go do: run the compounding numbers, compare unit prices on the next grocery run, sit down with you and open the custodial account.
With the Saving, Growing, and Investing Mini-Series, your teen hears it from a CPA instead of from you. (Which, let’s be honest, is sometimes the only way it sticks.)
Got Questions? Here are Your Answers:
Your kid. Every workshop is taught straight to teens and tweens. You’re welcome to watch along, and plenty of parents tell us they learned the IRA and hidden-fee sessions right alongside their kid, but the videos don’t need you in the room.
One workshop is for ages 10 and up, six are for 12 and up, one is for 13 and up, and three are for 15 and up. If your kid earns money from chores, babysitting, or a first job, they’re ready for most of it.
Not at all. A reviewer watched the IRA workshop at 11 and made a plan for later. The compound interest, credit, hidden fees, and grocery sessions all work on allowance or birthday money. The earlier they understand compounding, the more of it they get.
No, and they can’t open one alone anyway. Under 18 means a custodial account with a parent or guardian. The brokerage-account workshop and the compound-interest one both walk through exactly what the two of you need on hand if you decide to open one.
Between 10 and 34 minutes, about three hours for the whole set. The bills workshop is the long one at 34 minutes and covers a lot of ground. One teen reviewer said he struggled to keep it all straight, so the handout is worth printing for that one.
In a private, ad-free membership area you can get to anytime. Videos are downloadable so you can watch offline, and every workshop includes a printable and an action step.
Yes! It’s a one-time purchase with no subscription, and your access never expires. Your 12-year-old can come back to the brokerage workshop at 17 when it’s time to actually do it.
If your teen has never seen a paycheck stub or opened a checking account, start with our Money Management Basics for Teens and Tweens Mini-Series first. This series picks up right where that one leaves off.
