#LifeSkillsNow Mini-Series: Parenting Toolbox #2

Raise Kids Who Are Ready for Real Life

10 short workshops for parents of kids 5 to 18, on money, chores, screens, sibling fights, and the doctor’s office.

You Know What They Should Learn. Nobody Told You How to Teach It.

You want your kid to handle money without panicking, pitch in around the house without a standoff, sit through a checkup without a meltdown, and get along with their brother instead of you refereeing from the kitchen.

Every parent wants that. The actual teaching is what’s hard, on a regular Wednesday, while you’re also making dinner and answering a text about school tomorrow.

So this collection skips the pep talk and goes to the method. Ten experts, ten specific approaches you can start using this week, on the skills your kid will carry out the door with them.

Who this is for: parents of kids 5 through 18. A couple of workshops are aimed at one stage, but most of them work across the whole span.

I thought I knew what Amanda was going to tell me before I watched this, but I was pleasantly surprised! My husband and I have been going back and forth on this and now we are united with what to expect from our kids, what to gift them each month, and what they can do to earn more from us!

Why Parenting Toolbox #2?

Most parenting advice is about behavior right now. This set is about capability later.

Each workshop takes one real-life skill and shows you how to hand it over without a fight.

  • Short, expert-led videos, 11 to 37 minutes, that fit in a lunch break or a pickup line
  • Taught by people like Amy McCready of Positive Parenting Solutions, Tosha Schore, Katy Wells of The Maximized Minimalist, and Bobbi Rebell
  • Nine sessions for you, plus one healthy-habits workshop made for the whole family to watch together
  • A one-time purchase with no subscription, and it’s yours to keep

Ten experts, three and a half hours, and a much clearer idea of what to do next.

I’ve always wondered, and debated, about what age to talk ‘money’ with my kids and how much to share. This workshop helped me learn ways to talk about and model financial responsibility at different ages.

Debbie Comer, on Money Mindset

What Changes at Your House

Nothing here promises a kid who volunteers to clean the bathroom. What you get is a way in on the stuff that’s been stuck.

  • Figure out your own money mindset, because your kids are reading it whether you talk about money or not
  • Settle the allowance-versus-wages question in a way that fits your family, and know which chores get paid
  • Get a teenager who “isn’t interested” in money to actually take some of it in before they leave home
  • Teach a kid to make a real case for what they want, instead of whining or arguing
  • Cut the toy mess down to something you can live with, in four steps
  • Walk into a doctor’s appointment with a kid who can speak up about their own body
  • Help siblings build a real bond and repair things after a fight, with you doing less refereeing
  • Understand what screens are doing to your kid’s mood and focus, and reset the habits without a family war
  • Get elementary-age kids doing chores because they want to contribute, not because you nagged

And one workshop the whole family watches together, on simple habits that keep everybody healthier without a budget overhaul.

Got Questions? Here are Your Answers:

Is this for my kids or for me?

For you. Nine of the ten workshops are taught to parents. The tenth, Dr. Saeed’s healthy habits session, was made for the whole family, so grab your kids for that one.

How long are the videos?

Between 11 and 37 minutes, most in the 15 to 25 minute range. Three and a half hours for the whole collection.

What ages does this work for?

Most of it stretches. The “Convince Me” tool works from age 5 through the teen years, and the sessions on sibling conflict, screens, and doctor’s appointments apply at any age.

Two are aimed at a particular stage: the chores workshop is for elementary kids, and the money one is about teens before they leave home.

Is this the same as Parenting Toolbox #1?

No, completely different workshops and different experts. Toolbox #1 is about the hard moments, meltdowns, power struggles, and back talk. Toolbox #2 is about the skills you’re trying to hand off: money, chores, conflict, screens, and health. Plenty of parents own both.

How do I watch the workshops?

In a private, ad-free membership area you can get to anytime. Videos are downloadable so you can watch offline, and every workshop includes a printable and an action step.

Do I get to keep it?

Yes! It’s a one-time purchase with no subscription, and your access never expires. Come back to any workshop whenever you need the refresher.

What if I already own a full Season of #LifeSkillsNow?

The #LifeSkillsNow Mini-Series are pulled straight from previous Seasons, so if you already own one or more, chances are you have some of these workshops already. These ten come from five different Seasons, so it’s unlikely you have them all.

Are there any other Mini-Series available?

Yes! Parenting Toolbox #2 is one of several. Its companion is Parenting Toolbox #1: Raise Confident, Strong Kids Without Constant Conflict, which is also all parent workshops. Read about all our #LifeSkillsNow Mini-Series right here.

Can I share my login with friends?

No, our terms and conditions require you to use your #LifeSkillsNow Mini-Series login solely for personal use. You’re welcome to watch alongside your spouse or invite a friend over to watch with you at your house.
